Netball NZ embrace diversity and inclusion

Netball New Zealand (NNZ) have confirmed their commitment to supporting and promoting inclusion in its sport.

Netball continues to be embraced by a wide cross-section of New Zealand society, both urban and rural, children and adults. It’s one of the few sports to engage all cultures, making it a key contributor to the well-being of these groups in our communities.

In 2016, NNZ amended its Regulations to provide clarity to the processes involved in granting and assessing exemptions with particular reference to trans-gender players, religious or cultural clothing and/or adornments, and male participation in Netball.

These regulations provide clear guidelines for Netball Centres to follow and are readily accessible via NetballNZ.co.nz

A Safe Sport for Children policy is also under development in 2017 and will be made available in the coming months.
